In the earlier rounds, the seventh-seeded Indonesian claimed straight game wins, starting with 21-19, 21-12 first round victory over Chinese Taipei’s Pai Yu Po followed by a 21-1, 21-19 win over South Korea’s Sim Yu Jin in the second round.

Now, Sindhu will face an opponent she has had much success against in the form of Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The Indian has got the better of her Indonesian opponent in six of the seven previous attempts, losing only in the recent meeting in Madrid Masters 2023 Final.
