Queen Camilla channels Princess Kate in stylish green Polka dot dress

Queen Camilla and King Charles are at Buckingham Palace today to host a reception in honour of the Windrush Generation.

While Charles has not yet been pictured at the Royal Head Quarters in central London, Camilla looked joyous as she stood alongside Colonel Ruth Weir, Head of Corps for the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police.

The 75-year-old stepped out in a green shirt-style dress, complete with a waist-cinching belt and white polka dot pattern all over.

Camilla debuted the chic look in June 2021 on a visit to Drury Lane Theatre and appears to have re-styled the dress in the very same way for this occasion.

Designed by Samantha Sung, the polka-dot style is known as the “Audrey” dress and is a close match to Princess Kate’s go-to summer outfit.

The elegant garment retails for £705 and is made from a lightweight silk fabric – perfect for the hot weather.

In true royal style, the dress features a modest hemline, neckline and long sleeves with a buckle belt to add some shape to the floaty cut.

Though it is not identical, the style is very similar to several pieces previously worn by Kate – including the Alessandra Rich White and Brown Polka Dot Dress.

The 41-year-old style icon stepped out in the chic gown while attending Royal Ascot in June 2022.

Later in September, she was spotted doing the school run in the “Rixo Izzy Brown Polka Dot Shirt Dress” (£325), paired with the same Gianvito Rossi suede heels worn at Ascot.

Camilla opted for a less glamorous outfit by swapping Kate’s choice of stilettos for lower heels. The chunkier style features a rounded toe and a slight sheen on the cream-coloured material.

The shoes are the Queen’s go-to style for both comfort and elegance as they feature a hidden layer of cushioning. Loved by the likes of Helen Mirren, Mary Berry and Joanna Lumley, the “Sole Bliss” pumps are owned by Camilla in a range of colours, including suede navy and the cream shade she wore today.

While the 75-year-old was lacking in accessories at the Buckingham Palace reception, she was sure to finish the look with her trademark jewels.

Camilla wore a silver necklace with drop pendant earrings to match as well as a wrist full of bracelets stacked above one another.

While Camilla’s green polka dot number is almost identical to Kate’s previous styles, shirt-dresses are a generic fit loved by many royal women, including Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and Zara Tindall.

In recent weeks both the Princess of Wales and Queen Camilla have been spotted in the trademark outfit.

A typical ensemble for the senior women is a midi hemline, an A-line skirt, and a collared shirt neckline complete with a waist belt for definition.

Both Kate and Camilla have their own signature take on the popular dress style, with the younger Princess opting for brighter colours and more varied materials, while Camilla sticks to shades of green and blue.
