Regardless of your political affiliation everyone agrees this year’s midterm elections could, not being hyperbolic, define the future of democracy. The stakes could not be higher.
So just as they did in 2020 when they put on shows with Rick Ross, Ne-Yo, Big Latto, Jon Batiste, Busta Rhymes, Moneybagg Yo and others, Joy To The Polls is teaming up with several notable musicians to try and entice voters in battleground states.
To start, the organization created a “Music To Vote To” playlist that includes Common. Beach Bunny, A-Trak, Black Thought and countless more artists. Then on this election day, November 8, DJ/Oscar-winning director Questlove, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Diamond Kuts, Cosmo Baker and more will perform at various polling sites in Philadelphia. As it was in the 2020 elections, Pennsylvania is a crucial battleground state.
As is Georgia. So Remi Wolf, Baby Tate and DJ Jay Jash will be appearing in Atlanta. Additionally, performers still to be named will appear in Arizona’s Maricopa County.
“This is a celebration of our rights to vote! Pumped to bring the party to the polls in Philly on November 8th. It’s so important for everyone to show up and make our voices heard – there is so much at stake,” DJ Jazzy Jeff says before his appearance.
