Quinta Brunson has stunned us (and everyone else) at each and every red-carpet event or fashion show. We admired her topknot with face-framing tendrils that resembled a bouquet of flowers, which she wore for the 2022 Elle Women in Hollywood event in October. The leopard Sergio Hudson gown and waist-length curled half-up ponytail she wore to the Billboard Women in Music awards nearly sent us into cardiac arrest. Now, we’re picking our jaws from the floor after spotting her with a massive Afro puff and perfectly swooped edges.
The BuzzFeed alum wore the look in question for Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood awards on March 9. Dressed in a hot pink dress with poufy sleeves, she looked like a living Black Barbie doll. This puff was huge, fluffy, and frizzy. Perhaps our eyes are playing tricks on us, but we could have sworn her fluffy puff looked to be in the shape of a heart from some angles.
Don’t quote us, but we have a strong feeling that hairstylist Alexander Armand, who is responsible for many of her gorgeous hairstyles, achieved this look with the help of a drawstring ponytail. He deserves an award or two for her sculpted baby hairs, and we definitely need the details on what edge control he used because those swoops stayed intact through the night.
