Kunte had filed the appeal in SC against the Bombay High Court order dismissing his plea seeking directions to a magistrate in Maharashtra to admit transcripts of Rahul Gandhi’s speech as evidence in the ongoing defamation case against the Congress party leader.
In 2014, Kunte had filed the case against Rahul Gandhi after watching his speech in Thane’s Bhiwandi township, where the Congress leader alleged that the RSS was behind the killing of Mahatma Gandhi.
In his petition, Kunte also claimed that Rahul’s statement had maligned the reputation of the RSS.
