Rahul Gandhi shares photo with Kamya Punjabi as she joins him for Bharat Jodo Yatra in Uttar Pradesh

Actor Kamya Punjabi is the latest celebrity to join Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his Bharat Jodo Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Rahul posted a bunch of photos of the people who joined him. The first photo featured Kamya smiling and sharing a conversation with Rahul Gandhi as they walked together. For the meet, Kamya wore a white outfit, wrapped a white and black scarf around her neck, and added a black jacket. Rahul was seen in a white T-shirt and grey pants. Several other photos showed Rahul posing with people, waving, saluting, and hugging them.

He captioned the post, “Uttar Pradesh has been the birthplace and workplace of great politicians of India. From time to time, this great state has given a new direction to the country with its awareness. This immense public support received from the residents of Uttar Pradesh is proof that the people of the state are ready to give a befitting reply to hatred, to fight against inflation and unemployment, to pave the way for a bright future for the country and the state by uniting India. BharatJodoYatra.”

Kamya also took to her Twitter account and re-shared a video posted by the official handle of Congress. She captioned the post, “Aao milkar jode apna Bharat (Let’s unite our India together). #BharatJodoyarta @RahulGandhi @priyankagandhi.”

Earlier, many film and television personalities joined Rahul Gandhi to walk along with the politician in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Kamal Haasan, Swara Bhasker, Rashami Desai, Akanksha Puri, Amol Palekar and his wife Sandhya Gokhale, along with Pooja Bhatt and Riya Sen also took part in the walk.

The Congress leader began his yatra on September 7, 2022. He started the Bharat Jodo Yatra to raise awareness on the main political issues. The mass contact initiative of the Congress started from Kanyakumari on September 7. So far, it has covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and is currently passing through Uttar Pradesh.

Kamya joined Congress in October 2021. She was welcomed by political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla. In response to Tehseen’s tweet, Kamya had said, “Thank you so much Tehseen! I always wanted to join Congress and really appreciate your guidance and support to make this happen. Thanks again @tehseenp and @BhaiJagtap1. Looking forward to serving the nation @INCMumbai.”

Kamya has featured in many television serials such as Reth, Astitva Ek Prem Kahani, Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann, Piya Ka Ghar, Maryada Lekin Kab Tak, and Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar. She was also part of the second season of Comedy Circus and participated in Bigg Boss 7. She was also part of several films such as Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Yaadein, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Koi Mil Gaya.
