Bhumi Pednekar, in an exclusive chat with Indiatoday.in, spoke about the boycott and cancel culture in India. Recently, Bhumi and Akshay Kumar’s film, Raksha Bandhan, faced the wrath of netizens, who called for a boycott of the film. Their film received a major backlash after the writer Kanika Dhillon’s alleged ‘Hinduphobic’ tweets were pulled out by netizens. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s film, Laal Singh Chaddha has also met a similar fate.
BHUMI PEDNEKAR SAYS SHE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE CANCEL CULTURE
Bhumi Pednekar, in an exclusive chat with Indiatoday.in, said that the cancel culture has become very rampant. She said, “It is definitely very rampant, but you know we have to acknowledge the fact that the internet, where, cancel culture thrives is a democratic space that has a lot of freedom. There will be good opinions and there will be bad opinions. The way I deal with it is I only take the positivity in. I mean, I don’t understand that you know things that people can’t accept. I find it a little bizarre, but I’m just hoping this is a phase, but why don’t we also look at the non-cancel culture that exists? There’s also so much love we get on the internet. There’s so much love that we get from everywhere.”
BHUMI PEDNEKAR REACTS TO RANVEER SINGH’S NUDE PICS
Bhumi Pednekar also spoke about Ranveer Singh and his nude photoshoot. While some netizens were offended by Ranveer’s nude pics, others loved it, just like Bhumi. Reacting to Ranveer’s nudes, Bhumi said, “I think he is one of the best actors in our country, and I love him, and I just love him. Nothing that he does is wrong for me.”
