Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar along with his co-star Shraddha Kapoor. At a recent promotional event of the film, Ranbir Kapoor spilled the beans on whether or not he’s doing a biopic on cricketer Sourav Ganguly. The actor also confirmed working on Kishore Kumar’s biopic.
Ranbir on doing Sourav Ganguly’s biopic
A few days ago, it was reported that Ranbir has given a nod for Sourav Ganguly’s biopic. It was also said that he will soon start shooting for the upcoming project. Now, at a recent event, Ranbir stated that he has not been offered the film. The actor said, “I think dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not just in India, around the world. A biopic on him will be very special. Unfortunately, mujhe yeh film offer nahi huyi hai (I have not been offered this film) I think the makers of Luv Films are still writing the script.”
Earlier on Sunday, Sourav Ganguly and Ranbir Kapoor left their fans excited as they were spotted playing cricket at Eden Gardens.
On the other hand, Ranbir confirmed that he is working on Kishore Kumar’s biopic with Anurag Basu. The actor said, “Main 11 saal se Kishore Kumar ke biopic pe kaam kar raha hoon (I have been working on Kishore Kumar’s biopic for 11 years). We have been writing that with Anurag Basu and I’m hoping that it’s gonna be my next biopic. But main abhi tak dada k upar jo biopic ban rahi hai uske baare mein kuch suna nahi hai (But so far I haven’t heard anything about the biopic being made on dada). So, I don’t know.”
Talking about Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir and Shraddha starrer is directed by Luv Ranjan. The upcoming film is produced by Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Anurag Garg, and presented by T-Series’ Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar. The film is slated to release on March 8, 2023.
Ranbir will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal which also stars Animal Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol.
