The body of slain rapper Goonew was displayed during an event at a Washington, D.C. nightclub, weeks after his death.

Billed as a “final show,” Goonew’s body was propped up on the stage at Bliss Nightclub wearing a crown and designer duds, while clubgoers milled around him, taking photos, video and images posted to social media appear to show.

Tickets for Sunday’s event called it a “celebration of life.”

Those in attendance insisted the body was real. Black Fortune, a rapper who attend the event, wrote in his Instagram Story that “this ain’t no wax figure,” reported XXL magazine.

Bliss Nightclub issued a statement apologizing for event.

“Our deepest condolences to Goonew’s family, friends and fans,” the statement read. “Bliss was contacted by a local funeral home to rent out our venue for Goonew’s home-going celebration.

“Bliss was never made aware of what would transpire.”

They added: “We sincerely apologize to all those who may be upset or offended. Please keep Goonew’s family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time.”

Goonew, 24, was shot and killed on March 18 in District Heights, Maryland.

Police are still investigating and a $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
