If Don Lemon is looking for a career change, rapper Rick Ross is pledging to help former CNN personality make a transition.

The Hustlin’ hitmaker has offered the recently ousted newsman a job at one of his Wingstop restaurants.

“Just found out Don Lemon was terminated from CNN. Damn, dawg,” Ross said in a video posted to his Instagram Story. “But guess what? The brother’s got your back.

“We’re hiring at Wingstop, and for some reason, I believe you know what you doing with the lemon-pepper wings, so man, just send over your resume,” he continued. “I’mma make sure I get you in front of the right grill, brother. Stay solid, brother.”

Ross also pitched Lemon on an idea to partner up on one of his signature energy drinks.

“Just came up with a wonderful idea — well, really, Don, you helped me come up with this,” Ross said. “I need to hit the team over at Rap Star Energy Drink and let ’em know we should introduce the Don Lemon flavour. What y’all think? Aye, Don, we got you brother!”

CNN dumped Lemon earlier this week following a series of controversies that engulfed the longtime host. After jumping over to its morning program — CNN This Morning — Lemon was forced to apologize for saying Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was past her prime.

A woman, he said, was considered in her prime “in her 20s, 30s and maybe her 40s.”

Co-host Poppy Harlow asked Lemon to clarify what he was referencing: “Are you talking about prime for childbearing or are you talking about prime for being president?”

“Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just saying what the facts are,” Lemon responded.

Lemon also had a well-publicized on-air tiff with his other co-host Kaitlan Collins, when he accused her of trying to interrupt him in December.

There was also a segment in which Lemon went viral for saying male soccer players deserved to be paid more than females.

“It’s because [men’s soccer] is more interesting to watch!” Lemon exclaimed. “It just is!”

“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN,” Lemon wrote on Twitter after he was sacked Monday. “I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at work.”

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

The network did not reveal why he was fired, but disputed his categorization of how his dismissal unfolded.

“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate,” CNN said on Twitter. “He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”

Admitting his exit was a “surprise”, Lemon told Extra Wednesday night: “Life goes on. That’s behind me and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

So, honing his skills behind the grill at one of Ross’ Wingstops is not totally out of the question.
