Razer Updates Naga Line With V2 HyperSpeed, V2 Pro

0

The last time Razer updated its Naga line of MMO-focused mice was back in 2020, with the Naga Pro which features swappable side plates. Two years later, this series is being updated with two new entries, the Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed, and the Naga V2 Pro.

The lineup can be a tad confusing at first glance. This is because the base model, the Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed, features the two additional buttons at the corner of the left button, something usually reserved for higher-end models. This is then flipped on its head when you discover that it is fixed with the default 12-key side plate. though as the name suggests, it still does come with the brand’s relatively new HyperSpeed Wireless tech.

On the other hand, the Razer Naga V2 Pro is basically an incremental upgrade of the original Naga Pro from two years ago. It loses the two extra buttons at the left corner, but regains the swappable side panels, giving it two-button and six-button options again. Beyond that, as mentioned, you get incremental upgrades, like HyperSpeed Wireless, a Focus Pro 30K optical sensor, and the HyperScroll wheel. These are all also available on the base V2 HyperSpeed model.

Probably worth pointing out now is that, while both models sport wired and wireless modes, with Bluetooth or 2.4GHz HyperSpeed Wireless for the latter, the two mice use different batteries. For whatever reason, the Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed uses an archaic AA battery which gives it 400 hours on Bluetooth and 250 hours on HyperSpeed. The V2 Pro, on the other hand, has the more current internal rechargeable battery, which gives it 300 and 150 hours on Bluetooth and HyperSpeed, respectively.

For their prices, the Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed comes with an asking price of RM499. The V2 Pro, on the other hand, naturally has a larger price tag of RM899. Unlike the Wolverine V2 Pro from earlier, Razer has provided us with a local release date for these two MMO mice, which is 18 November.
