Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed Uses AA Batteries; Priced At RM349

Razer released the Viper V2 Pro last year, and it looks like it’s now time for an update. This comes in the form of the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed, which looks to be another push into performance above all else. As a result, while it sports some appreciated refinements, it also comes with some odd changes.

Let’s start on a positive note. The Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed comes with some small tweaks to its general shape which makes it easier to hold. As the name suggests, it makes use of the company’s HyperSpeed Wireless tech for lower latency. It also boasts up to an impressive-sounding 280-hour battery life.

This is where things get a little weird. The Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed is a purely wireless mouse, with no ports for you to plug any cables in. This also leads to it needing a AA battery for the aforementioned 280-hour use time. You can use it with the HyperPolling dongle for its blistering 4000Hz polling rate, but this cuts the battery life down to 75 hours.

The company has also swapped out the optical switches from the previous generation for more conventional mechanical switches with the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed. While these are still rated for over 60 million clicks, they don’t quite compare to the 90 million of the optical switches.

All that being said, these concessions make for a much more affordable package, as the Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed is priced at RM349. In comparison, the Viper V2 Pro is priced at RM749. It is already available on the brand’s online store, linked below. You can also get the aforementioned HyperPolling dongle bundled in for RM437, though this option looks to be available for most of the company’s mice now.
