Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain ‘s decision to not sell Kylian Mbappe for £200million in the summer transfer window.
Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital in August but PSG were unwilling to let go of the 22-year-old, despite a world-record deadline-day bid.
What made the French giants’ decision even more fascinating is that Mbappe’s contract expires in June, meaning he could leave the club, who paid £151million for him in 2018, for free in just eight months’ time.
As reported by journalist Ramon Alvarez, Perez vented his frustration at not getting the superstar.
“The state-owned clubs don’t sell their players. It’s a madness,” the Los Blancos head honcho claimed.

“Now we offer €200 million for a single player and they don’t sell him. When players finish their contract, it’s better.”
Perez added: “Since coming back to the club [in 2009], I am fighting. There are a lot of things that need to change, one way or another.”
Mbappe has contributed to 12 goals in as many Ligue 1 games this season and was on fire for France during the recent international break.
He hit four goals in Les Blues’ 8-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan before scoring one and assisting another in a victory over Finland to confirm their place at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Following his exploits for Didier Deschamps ‘ side, Mbappe was quizzed about his future and affirmed that he is “happy” with his current situation.
“I have spent five extraordinary years here [at PSG], I have taken advantage of every moment and I continue to do so,” the explosive forward told a press conference.
“I am happy both on the pitch and in my personal life.
“Now there are many things, great challenges and I have already spoken about that.
“I’m here, I’m still here, I’m here this season.”
Following the signing of Lionel Messi, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has claimed Mbappe, who can sign a pre-contract agreement with a new club in January, has ‘no choice’ but stay at the Parc des Princes.

“I think we have the most competitive team. Now there is no choice for Kylian but to stay here in Paris,” Al-Khelaifi said.
“I think everybody knows the future of Kylian, people from Paris and the players.
“He is a really competitive player. He wants to win, he wants to win trophies, he said it in public.
“He wanted a competitive team and I think we have got the most competitive in the world. So there is no excuse for him now. He can’t do anything else but stay.”
And in June, the PSG chief told L’Equipe : “I’ll be clear, Kylian is going to stay with PSG.
“We’re never going to sell him and he’ll never leave for free.”
