For Real Madrid, it’s back to square one as Carlo Ancelloti and men will look to find rhythm before La Liga gets underway on August 12 in a tough opening match against Athletic Bilbao. AC Milan will start their league season a bit late as they travel to Bologna for an August 21 clash.
There will be some big changes in the squad of Real Madrid, who couldn’t win La Liga and Champions League last season but had three trophies to show in Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Their star striker from past couple of season, Karim Benzema, however has left the club after a memorable 14-year-long stint while Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Brahim Diaz have also left the club for greener pasteur.
The big arrival is still awaited as the announcement of Kylian Mbappe is expected soon but the French forward has no role to play in this game. However, the club has made soon notable signings in Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Fran Garcia and Brahim Diaz in the summer window so far and could see some game time today.
Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan will like to keep in mind that they have very little to show from the season, in a semifinal exit in Champions League before a fourth-place finish in the Serie A as a defending champions.
