Nintendo has released a pre-order trailer for the upcoming game Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. The trailer shows off plenty of gameplay and many of the environments for the upcoming game. It is being developed by Team Ladybug, and published by Playism and WSS Playground.
The trailer begins by showing the protagonist Deedlit waking up in the Wonder Labyrinth, and then immediately starts showing gameplay. Throughout the trailer, we can see a variety of weapons being used to fight enemies, such as a sword, a bow and arrow, and a spear. We can also see that Deedlit will get various abilities to help her on the journey. These abilities include becoming invisible and summoning companions to help fight. We also get a look at a few bosses such as a knight and several dragons. The trailer ends with a chest being open, which ends up being a trap to eat Deedlit, and makes her lose levels in the process.
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a Metroidvania game set in the world of the long-running Record of Lodoss series. The story takes place before the Diadem of the Covenant novel series, and follows the High Elf Deedlit as she finds herself in a labyrinth with her past foes and allies. Like with most games in the genre, you will search for power-ups and collect items and bosses as you explore the labyrinth, using them to defeat enemies and bosses, and unlock new areas to explore. The game also features a mechanic involving elemental spirits, which players can use to grant Deedlit different abilities such as levitation or extra attack power.
The Record of Lodoss War series began as a series of fantasy novels written by Ryo Mizuno in 1988, after the popularity of replays of Dungeons and Dragons in Japanese magazines, and has since become one of the biggest fantasy franchise in Japan. The series follows a young man named Parn, as he goes out on adventures with his companions to find out what happened to his father, who is a dishonored knight, and to restore the honor of his family. Over the years the story has been adapted and expanded upon with multiple manga, anime OVAs and series, and many video games.
Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is launching on January 28, 2022, and will be available on Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. You can check out the pre-order trailer below.
