Reese Witherspoon is back in her fringe era

According to our calculations, it has been well over six years since Reese Witherspoon cut a fringe. She grew them out over the course of 2017, and from the looks of it, she put the style behind her. The signature look is perfect for her and we often reminisce about some of her best fringy styles of the past. Remember her flawless, standard-setting 2007 Golden Globes fringe? And it seems she, too, was itching to revisit a time when her forehead was less naked.

Reese posted a photo carousel to her Instagram grid in which she’s seen enjoying a Mother’s Day lunch with her sons, Deacon and Tennessee, and her mother, Betty Reese. In the first and third photos, it’s apparent that the actor and entrepreneur recently answered the eternal question, “Should I get bangs?” with a resounding, “Yes!” And we are very much here for it.

Reese is wearing an extremely cute pink, smocked, floral-print dress (from her brand, Draper James, of course) and her look is topped off with classic, wispy bangs that ever so slightly cover her brows and are a bit heavier on one side, thanks to a side part.

Reese was seen sans bangs as recently as late April, but it turns out she decided to make the cut a day or two before the beginning of May. A photo carousel posted to her Instagram on April 30 shows a lovely day spent with Laura Dern and Diane Ladd revealing that Reese has been sporting the super-straight fringe for a least a couple of weeks.

She didn’t call out the new look, but I also didn’t see the style change the moment it happened. Lesson learned: I vow to pay closer attention to Reese Witherspoon and her forehead from here on in.
