Reese Witherspoon is killing it in the little black dress department

Like the elegant Southern lady she is, Reese Witherspoon knows the power of a chic little black dress. For her first post-divorce public appearance, she went classic with her look. 

The actor and Hello Sunshine founder walked the carpet at the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me, the Apple TV+ thriller miniseries she executive produced, in a one-shoulder knee-length black frock. 

The LBD’s floral overlay pattern gave it texture, while a side-slit lent just the right amount of sex-appeal. Reese paired the dress with simple accessories: a pair of diamond hoops, a couple of cocktail rings, and pointed-toe black pumps. 

The star recently announced her divorce from Jim Toth, saying in a statement: “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

It continued: “Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”

Reese also posed alongside her friend Jennifer Garner, who is the Apple TV+ series’ star. Where Reese dressed in classic black, Jennifer wore a strapless white midi dress and gold, peep-toe pumps. 

Jennifer told Access Hollywood in a red carpet interview at the premiere that the role in The Last Thing He Told Me was one she fought for. “This is the job right. You have to be able to put yourself into the ring. It’s a very vulnerable job, you hear ‘no’ a lot and sometimes you have to put your neck out there and I’m grateful that in this case it paid off,” she said. 

Reese Witherspoon told the outlet: “It was so great to hear her passion. She picked up the phone, we had long conversations about it. It was the perfect part for her. I love that she was going to be this kick ass woman.”
