Remnant 2 can be a challenging game for those who are unprepared for what’s ahead. You’ll be facing dozens of enemies with limited health and ammo while also fighting difficult bosses that pull no punches for those not quick enough on a dodge.

Quickly into the game, you’ll be introduced to your first relic, which becomes your go-to source for regenerating health. While there are many different relics out there to find and choose from, each can be upgraded in the same way. Upgrading your relic can further make your character stronger, giving them additional boosts in the stats you choose.

Upgrading Your Relic

Getting Additional Relic Charges From Wallace

The most basic way to upgrade your relic is to take it to Wallace in Ward 13 and upgrade how many charges you get with it. You’ll initially start with three, but upgrading the relic here will give you an additional charge for each upgrade. While these upgrades do require Lumenite Crystals and Scrap, the most important item for these upgrades is a Simulacrum.

Simulacrums are very rare and only drop from some of the most difficult bosses of a world. Another way you can upgrade your relic is by finding other relics to use. Only one can be equipped at a time, and you’ll start with the Dragon Heart, which will simply heal you with each use. Other relics can also heal you but in different ways or amounts while also giving additional effects beyond the healing.

How To Use Relic Fragments

Relic Fragments Menu

Relic Fragments can be placed onto your relic, giving it additional bonuses. These can range from all kinds of additional stats or cooldown reductions, and you’ll come across many options throughout the game. Your relic can have a total of three relic fragments equipped at a time and these can be switched out anytime, as often as you’d like.

You can also find more relic fragments by talking to Dwell at Ward 13, who will allow you to buy new relic fragments that match your current power level. As you power up, you’ll find stronger relic fragments that further increase each stat, making it important to find and use new ones throughout the game, as they only get better.
