We’ve officially reached silly season in the 2023 NBA offseason as rumors that Draymond Green was in Portland to meet with Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard have now been floating around.
According to Trail Blazers insider Aaron J. Fentress, those rumors have been deemed false and there is no truth to reports that Green is considering joining the Trail Blazers. Fentress said that “all signs” point towards Green returning to the Golden State Warriors instead.
“According to multiple NBA sources, Draymond Green was NOT in Portland meeting with Damian Lillard regarding coming to the Blazers and all signs point to him returning to Golden State,” Fentress wrote.
But NBA fans aren’t convinced and many believe that there could be some truth to the rumors regardless:

“Are they saying he wasn’t in Portland, or he was in Portland but not to meet with Dame regarding coming to the Blazers?” one user replied.
“Well obviously he was NOT in Portland meeting regarding FA! That would be tampering. He was just meeting with Dame in POR having a causal dinner,” another suggested.
“Can you clarify? Are you saying Draymond never came here? Or are you saying he was here but not to talk about playing for the Blazers?” wrote a third.
It sounds like nobody will believe that the rumor ISN’T true until Green signs a contract.
