An unprecedented suspension is reportedly expected for Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant.
Morant, who’s gotten himself into trouble with gun videos, is expected to be hit with the punishment following the NBA Finals.
“This is a situation that is wide-ranging, and quite frankly, the indication here is that this is going to be a significant suspension,” said ESPN insider Brian Windhorst. “The tone and the tenor and the fact that the Players Association is involved does not indicate this is going to be something similar to what we’ve seen before.”
Sam Amico of Hoops Wire is hearing that Morant will be hit with a “massive” suspension.
“League sources have told Hoops Wire they believe Morant will be suspended for no less than the first half of the regular season,” he reported.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver said prior to the Finals that the league will wait to announce punishment until after the series is over.
