Mike Perry BRUTALLY knocks out Jake Ellenberger

Retired UFC welterweight Mike Perry fears a fighter could die on Triller’s latest ‘Triad Combat’ event which blends the rules of mixed martial arts and boxing.

Perry will face light-heavyweight boxing star Michael Seals on a bumper card in Texas staged by promotion Triller.

The card also includes the likes of heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, Matt Mitrione and former Bellator star Derek Campos.

But 30-year-old Perry has warned his fighting counterparts that there could be a death on the card which has sparked controversy.

“Let’s go, for real, mother******* gonna bleed, motherf****** gonna get f***** up, and somebody might die,” Perry said. “Straight up, it’s a fight, what you all want from us? I’m gonna f*** this dude up, we going at it.”

Perry later defended his comments on Instagram : “You might not want to talk about death but it is a part of life.

Mike Perry spoke out on his fears someone could die on Triller’s latest card

“It’s the idea of being able to choose how you risk your lives that makes life so exciting. Some people are dead before they ever die. I’ve always lived life to the fullest.

“The more you risk, the more you put on the line, the more you live.”

The event will see MMA fighters such as Perry face off against boxers in a specially-designed triangular ring.

And the fighters will wear crossover gloves while fighters being allowed to strike their opponent in any clinches during the fight to represent the rules from MMA.

Perry will feature on the bill against Seals despite recently signing a new deal with bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC.

His UFC career spanned 15 fights where he defeated the likes of Paul Felder before ending his time in the sport after defeat by Daniel Rodriguez in April this year.

Perry has already made his boxing debut back in 2015 in a sanctioned professional contest that was promoted by legend Roy Jones Jr.

But he was beaten by Kenneth McNeil being knocked out in the fourth and final round, despite showing promise throughout the fight.

Saturday night’s Triller card will be headlined by Pulev, who lost to Anthony Joshua last year, who takes to the ring against MMA star Frank Mir who competed in the UFC for 16 years.

Pulev is extremely confident of progressing beyond Mir despite the additional rules and believes the hybrid sport will be “easier than boxing”.

“So I don’t like to speak too much what I will do because you know this is like one little war,” Pulev told Fight Hype. “But for sure, will be very, very heavy for him because I’m very combinative.

“That’s why I’m prepared good, I have lot of power, and I feel great to fight with him because he’s also a great fighter and I respect him.

“But will be very heavy for him, really. And this is what is better for me. This is the time, 9 rounds, 2 minutes. This is really for me, more easy as boxing.”
