REVEALED: Perth’s best pirate-themed bars

0

Darling Darling

1/36 Henry St, Fremantle

This cosy bar feels like the cabin of an 1800s pirate ship, but smells a lot better. With ropes hanging off the walls, barrels for tables and an impressive cocktail list (mid-week cocktail specials very well-priced), this is a perfect place to sip whiskey and discuss plunder. Do not visit if you have a peanut allergy.

The Navy Club

64 High St, Fremantle

Ok, we know what you’re thinking “I can’t join the navy, I’m a pirate!” but this Fremantle members club welcomes all visitors to enjoy a drink and their expansive view of the port city. Take the stairs of the lift to the top floor for one of the best, and little known, watering holes in Fremantle. They host the Freo pub choir on Tuesdays and an open musical jam session on Wednesdays if you feel the need to belt out a few sea shanties.

Jungle Bird Rum Bar

59 High St, Fremantle

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! If you are looking for a bar that feels like the kind of place you would stumble into after disembarking from your vessel somewhere hot, sandy and a long, long way away, then Jungle Bird is for you. With rum cocktails and good times the order of the day, it’s the kind of place you would feel right at home bringing a parrot as a date.

Rodney’s Bait ‘n Tackle

598 Stirling Hwy, Mosman Park

With the bar being an actual boat, and the walls covered in all sorts of nautical paraphernalia, Rodney’s is the perfect spot for a sailor longing for the open ocean to regale their crew with tall tales of daring do. With regular live music, a Friday night fish raffle and good mid-week food specials, Rodney’s soothes the soul of a landlocked man or woman of the seas.

Pirate Bar

25 Green St, Mount Hawthorn

If you find yourself a long way from the ocean, on a literal mount no less, surrounded by stinkin’ landlubbers, then you can get your pirate-y fix at this suburban bar. With the Jolly Roger on display to make you feel at home, and a pirate ship chandelier giving the place the general feel of a pirate’s lair redecorated after a particularly successful plunder, this is a great spot away from the coast to wet your whistle.
