Rhea Seehorn and Vince Gilligan will be reuniting through Apple TV+’s untitled series.
Rhea Seehorn is set to reunite with Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan. Prior to joining the Breaking Bad spin-off, Seehorn was mostly known for her sitcom work. Before wrapping Better Call Saul, Seehorn was cast in Gilligan’s yet to be named series. The series will be streamed through Apple TV and the streamer already ordered two seasons of the series even before it was released.
During Better Call Saul’s six season run, both Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn have become the finest actors on TV. Just over a month after Better Call Saul ended, it was announced that Seehorn and Gilligan will be reuniting through the Apple TV series. There is very little information on the new series, but it was reported that the series is the staple of Gilligan’s work the last 15 years.
The actress revealed that she got a bit emotional when Gilligan informed her that he has created yet another epic series and this time, Seehorn will be the lead star. Seehorn was informed during the final days of Breaking Bad. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I literally cried. I just started bawling.”
She continued, “He said that there is this thing that’s been brewing and stewing in his head for a while. There were these different elements of the story, but it wasn’t quite working. And then it started to work, which is how he explained it. I’m sweating saying it because it’s a flattery and a compliment that is almost hard to accept.”
Vince Gilligan Created The Series With Rhea Seehorn in Mind
Not much details were released to the public about the storyline of the series, not even the nature of Seehorn’s character. For now, everything is being kept under wraps, however, series creator Gilligan has shared some details about the series. He said, “After 15 years, I figured it was time to take a break from writing antiheroes, and who’s more heroic than the brilliant Rhea Seehorn?”
He continued, “It’s long past time she had her own show, and I feel lucky to get to work on it with her. And what nice symmetry to be reunited with Zack Van Amburg, Jamie Erlicht and Chris Parnell! Jamie and Zack were the first two people to say yes to Breaking Bad all those years ago. They’ve built a great team at Apple, and my wonderful, long-time partners at Sony Pictures Television and I are excited to be in business with them.”
The Better Call Saul reunion project is still in development.
