Richard Elfman Unveils Teaser For Horror-Comedy Bloody Bridget

This year, filmmaker Richard Elfman releases his new movie, Bloody Bridget. The movie’s website describes the film as “a music-driven horror/comedy, dripping with gory good fun, hot sexy sizzle, and wild “Elfmaniac” visuals.” According to the Bloody Bridget website, the synopsis of the movie reads:

“The Baron Samedi drinks rum, smokes cigars and chases after mortal women. His wife, Maman Brigitte, is the red-haired Celtic goddess “Brigid” of Irish mythology, adopted in Haiti as their goddess of Death. Women seek her for protection–and justice. Bridget O’Brien is a red-haired waitress and burlesque dancer at a Van Nuys dive bar. She is exploited by her boss, her boyfriend and finally a sleazy attorney who attacks her–only to have her arrested for assault. Then comes the abusive prison matron. Finally, Bridget attempts to take her life. But Baron Samedi intervenes, thinking her the reincarnation of his disappeared wife. Bridget is empowered as a ‘Valentine vampire.’ ‘What is that?’ she asks. ‘Oh, you shall see!’ says the Baron. Blood tastes good, but is not enough–she must feast on the hearts of evil-doers.”

Bloody Bridget won’t be Elfman’s first film about vampires. He previously directed Modern Vampires, also known as Revenant. The film starred Casper van Dien and Natasha Gregson while featuring Kim Cattrall and Natasha Lyonne in supporting roles.

Elfman’s brother is singer, songwriter, and renowned composer Danny Elfman, who’s collaborated on his brother’s films several times. The director’s wife, Anastasia Elfman, is a performance artist and horror actress who will be playing the lead role of Bridget.

Bloody Bridget Will Be A Unique Movie.

Richard Elfman wrote his thoughts and vision for Bloody Bridget in a statement, which reads:

“Be it music, film, stage or the written page, my life’s passion is to entertain, but…in a manner that expresses an original and very personal vision. Of course I want my audiences to have some kick-ass fun, yet also to discover something new and different. In my long (and somewhat checkered) career, Bloody Bridget is the third film that I feel really proud of in terms of having my ‘Elfo Fun Stamp.’ Forbidden Zone, Aliens, Clowns & Geeks and now Bloody Bridget. (And we really give the Romans blood big time on this one.)

“I shot the film with a guerilla army of friends and fans, somehow managed killer special effects and a super musical score by Ego Plum and my brother Danny Elfman. I’ll have the film out of the lab in a few hours… then off with Anastasia to Brazil for our premiere. Life’s a struggle and a bitch at times, but f***ing fun!! YEE-HAW!!”

Bloody Bridget received its premiere at the Fantaspoa film festival on April 22, but there has been no word yet as to when the movie will receive a wider release or what that could look like. In the meantime, you can check out the teaser trailer over at Bloody Disgusting, but be warned, it’s NSFW.
