The sleuths over at the Daily Mail have apparently obtained a copy of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s baby son’s birth certificate and can now reveal the name of the couple’s firstborn. Drumroll please…
Rihanna and Rocky’s first child is named RZA Athelston Mayers. His first name is in honor of RZA of The Wu-Tang Clan (we presume), while his middle name, Athelston, is for his father, whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers.

After welcoming little RZA in May of 2022, Rihanna and Rocky had so far kept their baby’s name a secret. “Rihanna and ASAP have only shared the baby’s name with close family members,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time. “They are keeping it a secret until they’re ready to share it with the world.” In November 2022, when they still hadn’t shared the name of their baby, Rihanna indicated she’d been too busy enjoying motherhood to worry about doing a big reveal. “We just didn’t get around to it yet really,” she said, per Page Six. “We’ve just been living. But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just, like, getting it out there.”
Since then, Rihanna has posted a few absolutely adorable pictures of her son on her Instagram and he’s already starred in his own British Vogue photoshoot, but this would still be the first time he’s been called anything other than “baby” or, in one IG caption, “my fat man.”
Rihanna is, of course, already pregnant with the couple’s second child. But I wouldn’t expect to get any hints as to Baby No. 2’s name for quite some time.
