Actor Peter O’Brien, who portrays Sean, played Shane Ramsay for two years in Neighbours.
He is joined by Shameless and The Bill actor Ciaran Griffiths, who plays Alison’s first husband Michael Lane.
Coronation Streets will recognise Griffiths as Damon Hay, who recently showed up on the cobbles.
Other cast members include Benny Turland, Ally Fowler and Benjamin Samaddar.
Riptide premieres on Tuesday, December 27, at 9pm on Channel 5.
