Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro is on board to star in and executive produce the upcoming crime drama titled Mr. Natural. According to Variety, the project follows Louis “Mr. Natural” Baron (De Niro), who, fresh off a 30-year stint in federal prison, hits Palm Springs driven by a dream to reunite with his stolen family and a dangerous scheme to grab a taste of the Salton Sea’s lithium billions.

As per the logline, there will be blood in the sand and bones in the desert. Palm Springs will never be the same. The drama series, which will reportedly have multiple seasons, is created by Mitch Glazer who also executive produces alongside De Niro, “Yellowstone’s” Art and John Linson.
The crime drama series is currently in the works at Entertainment One. On the work front, the series will mark the veteran actor’s first regular television role. The Goodfellas actor has made a name for himself in crime dramas like The Godfather Part II, Mean Streets and Casino.
Meanwhile, De Niro is re-teaming with Martin Scorsese on Apple’s Killers of the Flower Moon, a Western crime drama about the 1920 Oklahoma murders in the Osage Nation. He is also set to star in Netflix’s limited series Zero Day, Joker sequel Joker: Folie à Deux, About My Father and Ferrari among others.
