Robert Pattinson managed to surprise the entire world and especially skeptical DC fans, after his performance as Bruce Wayne in The Batman. Something similar happened to Charlie Cox when he imprisoned Matt Murdock in Daredevil for Netflix, giving such a fantastic performance that fans insisted he keeps playing the character, now for the MCU.
But what if they change places? A new fan art, published by Instagram user bobby_art, imagines Pattinson playing the Man without Fear for Marvel Studios instead of Cox:
The truth is Batman and Daredevil share some very interesting details within their stories. Both lost their parents at a young age and have been through a tortuous training process to become their city’s vigilantes. Hell’s Kitchen, such as Gotham, has a large number of criminals rising to power, with mafia mops playing an important role in both stories.
Charlie Cox is set to return as Murdock next year in Daredevil: Born Again, his official debut within the MCU after briefly participating in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He’ll be joined by D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who already appeared in Hawkeye and Jon Bernthal, playing Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, as he did on Netflix.
Robert Pattinson’s Future as Batman
The Batman Part 2 is set to premiere in 2025, the same year a new Bruce Wayne will be introduced in The Brave and the Bold, along with his son Damian Wayne as Robin. But Pattinson’s version will have no connection with this story and remain an independent project such as Joker.
But Robert could dress up as the Caped Crusader sooner than that since he’s rumored to participate in The Penguin series, an HBO Max original spin-off that will follow Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot, as he rises to power after the death of his boss, Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
The series is supposed to directly connect with the sequel, so there might be some interesting hints at the movie’s plot inside the show that’s already filming its first and probably only season.
The Batman Part 2 could also be the official introduction of Barry Keoghan’s Joker since he only appeared in a short scene with Paul Dano’s Riddler at the end of the first movie and shared a scene with Pattinson that was eliminated from the film.
