Robertson stirs up Celtic fans with Instagram post after Liverpool win

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has won the support of Celtic fans after a recent Instagram post appeared to poke fun at their win over Rangers on Sunday. The Scotland international is a boyhood fan of the Hoops and spent time in their academy as a youngster.

Liverpool continued their good run of form with a 4-3 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, though the nature of their second-half performance was a cause for concern. The Reds flew out of the block and took the lead through Curtis Jones in the third minute, with Luis Diaz then doubling his side’s lead just two minutes later.

Mohamed Salah then converted a penalty in the 15th minute in what looked like a goal that would put the game to bed, though that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Harry Kane kickstarted Tottenham’s revival before the halftime break, with Son Heung-min cutting the deficit to a single goal in the 77th minute.

Former Everton star Richarlison appeared to return to haunt his ex-rivals when he nodded home an equaliser in the third minute of additional time to send the away supporters at Anfield into a frenzy. However, Jota ensured that Liverpool were victorious just seconds later when he latched onto a poor backpass from Lucas Moura to slot home from close range.

The goal prompted Robertson to post a photo online of him celebrating the goal with his match-winning teammate, captioning the post: ‘Jota Sundays’. The picture has racked up over 160,000 likes, with Liverpool fans united in joy at seeing the celebrations once again.

Though Celtic supporters were also among those pleased with the post, feeling that the caption hinted at Robertson’s joy in seeing their side beat Rangers 1-0 just hours before the Liverpool match.
