England bowler Ollie Robinson has concerns over the injury to star all-rounder Ben Stokes after another frustrating day in the Ashes opener against Australia.
Day one was no doubt a day to forget for Joe Root’s side as the hosts rattled through England’s batting lineup at the Gabba, to bowl the visitors out for a well under par 147.
The difficulties then continued for England, as it was once again the hosts who dominated in the Brisbane sunshine, however one positive for Root and his team was no doubt the performance of Robinson.
The Sussex seamer proved the main man with the ball on day two, as he picked up his first ever Ashes wicket before finishing up with three for 48 from 18 gruelling overs.

Despite a good day on a personal level, Robinson was of course still left frustrated, rueing Stokes’ injury and missed opportunities in the field for England’s struggles.
Stokes – who cleaned bowled David Warner before being penalised with a no-ball call – was dealt a blow midway through day two after a jarred knee left him far from full fitness out on the Gabba turf.
This of course had a knock-on effect on his bowling, and Robinson admitted this loss was a big one for his side.
The 28-year-old said: “It’s always tough when a seamer goes down, especially in these conditions.
“He (Stokes) has got something that not all of us have – he’s got that pace and bounce – so it hurts us a little bit. The other boys took the slack and I thought it was a good effort in the end.”

Luck no doubt seemed to be on the side of the Australians, and more specifically Warner, who was given two more lifelines at the crease after being dropped by Rory Burns, before Haseeb Hameed missed the stumps with a close-range run-out attempt.
As a result this lack of fortune for the England side no doubt hampered their efforts on day two, as Robinson added: “It was a warm one. They were tough conditions for us but the boys toiled hard.
“There were some missed opportunities and on another day we could have them four down early.”
There were also concerns for the fitness of Robinson towards the end of play, who looked somewhat fatigued in the sweltering conditions.
However he has reassured England fans that he feels ‘OK’ despite a tough day in the sun.

He said: “My body is doing OK. I came off for some strapping and maintenance but I’ll rest up tonight and come back [on Friday].
“It came out well. I was consistent and had a lot of plays and misses. I sort of felt like I was going to get Warner out every over.”
Robinson and his England teammates return for day three needing three wickets to bowl out the hosts, who sit on 343 for seven.
