Led by strong showings from rookies Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun, the Houston Rockets saw clear progress on Saturday in New York. It was not, however, quite enough to break their 14-game losing streak.
In the conclusion of a four-game road trip, could Monday be the day? Green played quite well in his first matchup against the Celtics last month, scoring a career-high 30 points on 8-of-10 shooting from 3-point range (80.0%). That still wasn’t enough to secure a win at the time, but it gave Houston’s a puncher’s chance, and that’s all the young Rockets can reasonably hope for on the road versus a perennial playoff team.
Here’s when you should tune in to see Monday’s rematch:
- Date: Monday, Nov. 22
- Time: 6:30 p.m. Central
- TV Channel: AT&T SportsNet Southwest, NBA League Pass
- Live Stream: fuboTV (watch for free in Houston markets)
Probable starting lineups
Houston Rockets (1-15)
- Guard: Eric Gordon
- Guard: Jalen Green
- Forward: Jae’Sean Tate
- Forward: Christian Wood
- Center: Daniel Theis
Boston Celtics (9-8)
- Guard: Marcus Smart
- Guard: Jaylen Brown
- Forward: Jayson Tatum
- Forward: Al Horford
- Center: Robert Williams III
As for the injury report, Boston could be getting some significant reinforcements for Monday’s game. All-Star guard Jaylen Brown (right hamstring strain) and big man Robert Williams III (left knee tendinopathy) have missed the last eight and three games, respectively, but both are listed as probable to return versus Houston. Dennis Schroder (left ankle sprain) and Romeo Langford (left ankle sprain) are probable, as well.
Kevin Porter Jr. has missed the last two games for the Rockets due to a left thigh contusion, and he has the same “questionable” designation heading into Monday. Otherwise, Houston’s injury report is clean.
