During the optional session, several key players including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur did not attend practice. However, Rohit Sharma, KS Bharat, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav were present.
While batting in the nets, Rohit was hit on his left thumb, prompting him to get it bandaged. Initially, he continued practicing but eventually decided to stop. Later on, the 35-year-old batsman removed the bandage.
