In the 1000th match of Indian Premier League, MI chased down a target of 213 with three balls to spare and six wickets in hand thanks to the hattrick of sixes by Tim David in the ultimate over of the match.

However, during the match, Rohit, who was celebrating his 36th birthday and captaining the Mumbai Indians for the 150th time, was dismissed for just 3 runs in the chase. The MI skipper was given out bowled in the second over, but fans have called the wicket “unfair”.
After the match ended and the huge was sunk in, few fans questioned on Social Media if Rohit was really bowled as they attached video proof that the balls missed the bails or the stumps and it was RR skipper Rajasthan Royals’ gloves that dislodged the bail.
There is only one angle – an upfront one – to the dismissal. So, it’s difficult to conclude that the decision was not right on the field, but fans were puzzled why the umpires did not send the decision upstairs.
Rohit Sharma was not out.

While fans were angry with the decision, some showed images from another angle which shows Samson’s golves were far away from the stumps, meaning it was the balls that dislodged the bails.

Some fans also responded saying even RR opener Yashasavi Jaiswal, who scored his maiden IPL hundred, was also not out as it was a clear waist-high no-ball, that was checked by the third umpire and contorversially given out.

The ball tracking technology showed the ball to go above the waist and the stumps, but the TV umpire deemed it as a fair delivery and gave Jaiswal the marching orders after a wonderful knock of 124 from 62 balls.
Jaiswal’s hundred powered Royals to 212 for 7 and the visitors were on the road to victory despite knocks from Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav. However, David kept his nerve and helped MI to their fourth win of the season.
