There
were
many
players
who
have
reached
many
personal
milestones
with
their
performances
in
the
match,
and
India
captain
Rohit
Sharma
is
among
the
names.
The
Indian
captain
scored
a
hundred
while
batting,
becoming
the
only
centurion
in
the
match.
In
a
pitch
which
bamboozled
the
Aussie
batters,
Rohit
found
things
extremely
easy
as
his
flawless
120
gave
India
a
strong
foundation
in
the
first
innings.
Rohit
scored
his
first
Test
century
as
India
captain,
and
also
became
the
only
Indian
captain
to
have
scored
hundreds
in
all
formats
while
leading
the
country.
But
after
India’s
resounding
victory
over
the
Aussies,
he
has
found
himself
poling
at
another
unique
record.
Rohit
Sharma
has
now
become
the
Indian
opener
with
most
centuries
in
an
international
match
win.
The
Indian
captain
has
now
reached
the
three-figure
mark
31
times
as
an
opener
when
the
team
have
won
a
match.
With
this,
Rohit
surpassed
Indian
legend
Sachin
Tendulkar,
who
has
his
tally
at
30.
Among
the
global
names,
Rohit
Sharma
is
now
joint-second
along
with
former
Australia
opener
Matthew
Hayden,
while
another
Aussie
opener
David
Warner
is
currently
the
player
with
the
most
centuries
as
an
opener
in
wins,
with
32
times.
The
Indian
skipper
is
just
one
away
from
equaling
the
record
and
he
will
surely
aim
to
achieve
that
by
the
end
of
this
Border-Gavaskar
Trophy.
India’s
sheer
dominance
over
Australia
was
quite
vivid
as
they
dismantled
the
visitors
with
their
frontline
spinners.
Ravichandran
Ashwin
and
Ravindra
Jadeja
ran
riot
in
the
Aussie
batting
lineup
as
India
have
taken
a
1-0
lead
in
the
series.
The
next
Test
is
set
to
be
played
in
Delhi,
followed
by
a
couple
more
in
Dharamshala
and
Ahmedabad
respectively.
India
and
Australia
currently
are
at
the
pole
positions
of
the
ICC
World
Test
Championship
table.
The
top
two
teams
will
be
playing
the
WTC
2021-23
cycle
final
to
be
held
at
the
Oval
in
June.
