Convicted paedophile Rolf Harris has died aged 93, it has been announced today. His cause of death has been confirmed as neck cancer and “frailty of old age” after the convicted paedophile battled the disease in his final years.
The disgraced TV presenter’s death was confirmed by a registrar at Maidenhead Town Hall on Tuesday afternoon.
Harris “died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest”, his family said in a statement.
It has since been shared that Harris died on May 10 and was cremated just days later.
A statement from the family of Rolf Harris released by their solicitors said: “This is to confirm that Rolf Harris recently died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest.

“They ask that you respect their privacy. No further comment will be made.”
The Australian-born TV presenter was a family favourite for decades before being convicted of a string of indecent assaults in June 2014.
Harris was jailed for five years and nine months after being convicted of 12 assaults, which took place between 1968 and 1986.
Following his conviction, he was stripped of his many honours, including his CBE, OBE, MBE, and Membership of the Order of Australia.
In October, it was reported that the convicted paedophile was “gravely sick” with neck cancer and was receiving around-the-clock care.
In May 2017, Harris was formally cleared of four unconnected historical sex offences, which he had denied.
Later the same year, one of the 12 indecent assault convictions was overturned by the Court of Appeal.
Born in western Australia, Harris enjoyed a stellar career in Britain when he first arrived in the UK in 1952.
He made his first appearance on the BBC the following year, and rose to huge popularity with his own shows for children and adults from the late 1960s.
He was appointed MBE in 1968, OBE in 1977 and CBE in 2006. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2012, only a year before his arrest.
The on-screen performer also found huge success with novelty songs such as Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport, Two Little Boys and an improbable reworking of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven. He appeared at Glastonbury in 2010, aged 80.
Harris was also commissioned to paint an official portrait of the Queen in 2005.
