The Belgian rejoined Inter Milan yesterday after less than 12 months back at Chelsea.
Lukaku joined the Blues for a club record £97m, with Thomas Tuchel feeling the striker could be the final piece of the jigsaw as the club looked to mount a Premier League title challenge.
But despite a bright start, Lukaku became a bit-part player in west London after criticising Tuchel’s tactics and admitting he wanted to rejoin Inter in a controversial interview.
Tuchel wasn’t the only one that felt put out by Lukaku, though, with the Athletic claiming the Belgian left a bad impression on his Chelsea team-mates.
Lukaku joined the club just two months after Chelsea beat Manchester City to win their second Champions League title and he walked into a dressing room full of trophy-laden stars.
But many felt Lukaku gave off an unwarranted air of superiority and didn’t respect the achievements of his new team-mates.
That angered the rest of the Chelsea squad, who felt Lukaku thought he was ‘better’ than them.
Lukaku has got his wish of a return to the San Siro and Chelsea hope to replace him with Leeds winger Raphinha, after agreeing a £55m deal for the Brazilian.
Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele are also targets.
