Romesh Ranganathan ‘doesn’t want to be cancelled’ for copying Anne Robinson

Romesh Ranganathan is taking over the reins as the new host of The Weakest Link this Christmas. He’ll be fronting a celebrity version of the quiz show, which will begin later in December.

The show was made famous by long-time presenter Anne Robinson, who fronted the show from 2000 until 2012.

However, Romesh has admitted he’s hoping to bring his own presenting style to the show.

Speaking at a recent launch of the show, the star told Express.co.uk and other media about how he’ll approach the show.

One thing, in particular, he’s keen to skip is having Anne’s signature wink.

The new series will feature 12 episodes, which will each run for 45 minutes.

They were filmed in Glasgow earlier this year with a number of popular stars, from Anton Du Beke to Gemma Collins.

The gameshow is expected to follow the same pattern as the original version as celebrities hope to be crowned The Strongest Link.

However, they will be playing to win the prize money of £50,000 for charity, rather than themselves.

Anne has opened up previously about how the show’s approach will be “very different” to hers.
