International football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has posted a heartwarming photo of his newborn daughter, less than two weeks after his infant son tragically died at birth.
The Manchester United forward shared the black and white photo of him cradling his daughter on social media on Saturday, captioning the precious photo “Forever Love” with a heart emoji.
Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, revealed their son had died at birth but their twin daughter survived on April 18.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” the grieving father wrote online.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
Wrapped in a sea of support by doting fans, the image went viral within minutes. A minute’s applause was also held for Ronaldo during Manchester United’s mid-week match against Liverpool, with fans singing “you’ll never walk alone.”
The footballer and his partner are yet to announce the name of their baby girl.
