Just days after giving birth to her first child La’akea Makalapuaokalanipo Brown on Sept. 27, Ronda has shared two photos of her still-toned torso to Instagram, revealing her mother, judo champion AnnMaria De Mars, also bounced back quickly when she became a mum to the fighter and her sister.
“seems to be recovering faster than I hoped,” Rousey captioned the photo, revealing her mum returned to training after giving birth to her older sister, and won the judo U.S. Open “6 weeks later.”
“When she was pregnant with me she only gained 12 pounds – and I was an 8 lbs baby!”
However, Rousey, who followed in her mother’s footsteps by becoming the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo by winning bronze in 2008, isn’t trying to beat her mother’s post-baby bounce back, writing: “I’ve decided to let her keep those records.”

Ronda has not has not been back in the ring since she announced a hiatus from wrestling after breaking a hand at WrestleMania in April, 2019. She suffered another severe hand injury while filming U.S. series 9-1-1 eight months later.
“Since breaking both my hands and getting pregnant it feels like I lost a lifetime of muscle – it’s easy to get discouraged over all that lost progress,” she wrote. “But if anything I’m looking forward to getting cleared to train again even more. This is an opportunity (to) start over and mold my body into its next phase.”
Rousey added the hashtags “#BaddestMomOnThePlanet” and “#ThisIsntEvenMyFinalForm.”
