The Rocket made history as he made 100 in just 204 seconds against Bai Langning in a 4-0 victory. His incredible performance saw two runs over 50 and his average shot time was just over 11 seconds.

Just as you think Ronnie O’Sullavin can’t continue to create history, he does so tonight in incredible fashion, with fans in the crowd stunned by his achievement. The previous best was in 211 seconds by Tony Drago, who set the record in 1996.
Even by Ronnie O’Sullivan’s standards, it was an incredible performance by the seven time world champion, who made a quick evening of the action, giving his opponent Bai Langning no chance as he sat in complete disbelief of what he was watching.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has enjoyed another great year in snooker, as he has added to his incredible list of achievements. He regained world number one status, won the Hong Kong masters, and has now added the quickest century seen in snooker to further cement himself in the history books.
Speaking after this historic achievement, The Rocket gave a very typical response as to how he felt after the match.
“I just felt like I needed to speed up a bit and enjoy it. Edinburgh is a nice city. Got some runs sorted out and I’ll come and enjoy my time here.”
O’Sullivan will now face Ben Wollaston in the last 64 of the tournament. Elsewhere in the tournament, Mark Allen reached the second round with a 4-1 victory over Hong Kong’s Andy Lee. The newly-crowned UK champion will now face Martin Gould in the last 64.
There was a shock earlier in the day however, as former champion Stuart Bingham lost 4-3 to Zak Surety.
