Ross McCausland has signed a new contract with Rangers, extending his stay with the Ibrox club until 2027.
The 20-year-old has become a squad regular under new manager Philippe Clement, making six of his nine appearances this season since the Belgian arrived in Glasgow.
His performances have caught the eye, and resulted in McCausland making his Northern Ireland debut earlier this month.
Rangers have now moved to extend his deal, with the former Linfield youngster’s existing Ibrox contract running until 2024.
McCausland said it was an easy decision to commit to the club and the winger aims to show what he can do now his future is settled.
“I’m really pleased to have agreed this new deal with the club,” he said.
“It’s no secret I am a massive Rangers supporter, and there was no doubt in my mind I wanted to commit my future here for the long term.
“I’m extremely grateful to the new manager for giving me an opportunity in recent weeks, and I want to repay him and everyone at the club with my performances on the pitch in the years to come.”
Clement said that the club had done an important piece of business, and that McCausland had shown why he was deserving of the backing.
“I am really pleased with the progress Ross has made in recent weeks,” the Rangers boss said. “He is deserving of this new contract.
“I have been clear that young players will be given an opportunity at this club if they show the right qualities and work ethic, and Ross has done that.
“Ross is a talented young player, and I think it is an important step from the club to move to secure his future here.”
