The royal city of Ulundi fittingly saw Royal AM prevail over Usuthu, who had won this pre-season cup the year before.
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi did not attend the match this year after he underwent a back operation, having been advised by doctors to remain at home to recover.
Even though it is only the preseason, this victory serves as a prelude to Royal AM’s huge week to come with another PSL term getting underway.
Royal AM have been struck a blow to their preparations though as the Court for abritration in Sport has found their Fifa transfer ban to be in order.
The club have been punished over failure to properly compensate released players.
