Defending champions Gujarat are the current table-toppers in the 10-team IPL while Rajasthan, who clashed against the Hardik Pandya-led side in IPL 2022 final, are occupying the fourth spot.
Gujarat lost their last match against Delhi Capitals (DC) by five runs. Rajasthan piled up 212 in their last match against Mumbai but ended up losing by six wickets.
As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the second time in the IPL 2023, let’s have a look at four bowlers who will take most wickets in the RR vs GT match.
Ravichandran Ashwin: The off-spinner is the leading wicket-taker for his side at the moment. He has picked 13 wickets in nine matches at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 7.22.
The experienced campaigner has been in terrific form, however, he leaked 37 runs in four overs without taking any wicket in his previous outing against the side this season. He would be aiming to avenge himself on Friday.
Trent Boult: Same is the case of Trent Boult. In the earlier meeting against GT this season, the left-arm pacer leaked 46 runs in four overs for a wicket. He dismissed Wriddhiman Saha.
The senior pacer has a habit of making comebacks and he would be aiming for he same against Gujarat in Jaipur. He has played seven matches in this season and picked 10 wickets at an average of 23.40 and an economy rate of 8.35.
Mohammed Shami: The star pacer is the joint highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2023 alongside’s CSK’s Tushar Deshpande. He has picked 17 wickets in nine matches at an average of 14.52 and an economy rate of 7.05.
He was Gujarat’s leading wicket-taker during GT’s home fixture against RR this season. He picked three wickets for 25 runs in four overs. He also bowled a maiden over. Overall, he as picked 18 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 24.38 and an economy rate of 8.80.
Rashid Khan: The Afghanistan superstar has leaked runs lately but the the threat from him cannot be written off. In his previous outing against RR, he gave away 46 runs but returned with the wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Riyan Parag.
The leg-spinner is currently the joint third-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2023. In nine matches, he has picked 15 wickets at an average of 20.53 and an economy rate of 8.55. Overall, he has picked 12 wickets in 12 matches against RR.
