RCB are sixth on the points table. They have 10 points from 11 matches and need to win each of their last three league matches to book a playoffs berth. The side has lost their last two matches.
As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the second time in the IPL 2023, let’s have a look at four bowlers who can take most wickets in the match.
Mohammed Siraj: The right-arm pacer was once the leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2023. Currently, he is sixth on the list of highest wicket-takers. In 11 matches, Siraj has picked 15 wickets at an average of 21.06 and an economy rate of 7.90.
He is the leader wicket-taker for RCB and the team would be hoping for him to deliver in the crunch game. The 29-year-old picked one wicket for 39 runs in the first meeting against RR this season. Overall, he has picked eight wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 8.48 against Rajasthan.
Vijaykumar Vyshak: The right-arm pacer has performed beautifully for RCB in their last two outings against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) respectively. The 26-year-old would look to delivery for the team in the must-win game.
Vyshak bowled two over for 24 runs and without any wicket in his last outing against Rajasthan. In six matches for RCB in the ongoing season, he has picked six wickets at an average of 26.62 and an economy rate of 10.65. Overall, he has featured in 20 T20 matches and picked 30 wickets at an average of 18.86 and an economy of 7.97.
Trent Boult: The New Zealand pacer is the leading pacer for his team in the tournament. He picked two wickets in his side’s last match against KKR. In total, he has played nine matches this season and picked 12 wickets at an average of 23.08 and a strike rate of 8.14.
In the first match against RCB this season, Boult dismissed Virat Kohli for a duck and dismissed Shahbaz Ahmed as well. However, he also leaked 42 runs. In 11 matches against RCB, Boult has picked 16 wickets at an average of 22.43 and an economy rate of 8.34.
Ravichandran Ashwin: The experienced off-spinner is the second-highest wicket-taker for his team. He has picked 14 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 23.92 and an economy rate of 7.44.
Ashwin gave away 36 runs in four over for the wicket of Glenn Maxwell when he came face-to-face with RCB earlier this season. The 36-year-old has picked three wickets in last two outings in Jaipur. Overall, he has played 26 matches against RCB and picked picked 22 wickets at an average of 27.04 and an economy rate of 7.
