Chelsea star Ruben Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he is currently feeling in the best condition he has ever felt.
Loftus-Cheek’s Chelsea career to date has been hit by several serious injuries, leading to the England international making just 110 Premier League appearances across 12 seasons.
However, the 25-year-old has become a regular in Thomas Tuchel’s team so far this term, after impressing the Chelsea boss in pre-season.
And the academy graduate has revealed that he is currently enjoying the best spell of his career, both physically and mentally.
‘This is the best I’ve felt, easily,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘I was playing well under [Maurizio] Sarri, but I can’t say that I was confident in myself, in my body. I still had doubts, I still got injured a lot that season. I wasn’t complexity free mentally.
‘But now I can say that I am playing completely free mentally, there is no doubt in my body about getting injured.
‘I always had belief in myself and my quality on the ball so going on the pitch to play now its so enjoyable, it just feels fun.’
Chelsea, who currently sit top of the Premier League table after 10 matches, will be looking to continue their fine form when they welcome Burnley to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
