Ryan Gosling has opened up on his home life with Eva Mendes and their two kids, Esmeralda, seven, and Amada, five.
The actor, 41, discussed how his kids are “growing up so fast” as he shared a rare insight into his private life.
Speaking to British GQ, the La La Land star admitted he has to keep an eye on the clock these days in “a way I never used to”.
Like so many parents with young kids, Ryan confessed he’s always looking at ways to keep his children entertained and said lockdown was tough.
He said: “”Our kids were at a difficult age not to be able to see other kids and interact with people, even though Eva and I did our best.”
He joked that he had to act more during quarantine than he did on the big screen and also found his kids were a “tougher crowd”.

And when discussing his movies, he admitted that he isn’t in a rush to introduce his kids to his work incase they struggle to decipher what is fantasy and what is reality.
The discussion about his kids brings a rare insight into the family’s private life, with both Ryan and Eva, 47, choosing to shield their kids from the public eye.
One way the F9 actress does this is to avoid sharing their faces on social media.
In 2020, she told an Instagram user in a Q&A: “I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids.
“I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. An since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent.
“And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”
Eva has also previously sparked a debate when she compared smacking children to domestic violence.

Last April, The Hitch star posted on Instagram one of the most often asked questions of her before sharing her favourite thought on parenting.
Eva wrote: “I’m often asked what my favourite red carpet dress is. This @versace is definitely up there. Im not often asked what my favourite parenting quote is, but I’ll post it anyway.”
On a second slide she wrote: “Spanking does for a child’s development what hitting a spouse does for a marriage.”
