Rylan Clark has reminded fans that ‘everyone is entitled to talk about politics’ after getting into a Twitter argument with former MP Edwina Currie.
The radio star and Edwina clashed over Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak being fined for attending a part during the coronavirus lockdown and breaking Covid rules and regulations.
It was announced that the Prime Minister and the Chancellor broke the law after gathering for the PM’s birthday in the Cabinet room in 2020.
Following the release of the news that enraged the country, Rylan took to Twitter to share his opinion on the matter.
“He’s officially broke the law. That’s it ain’t it?” he questioned.

Former MP Edwina caught wind of the tweet and jumped to the PM’s defence, telling Rylan that Vladimir Putin is ‘laughing at us’.
“No, it isn’t,” she responded. “Shouldn’t have happened, but it’s done now.
“In case you hadn’t noticed, this all happened two years ago. Putin is laughing at us. Get real.”
It Takes Two presenter Rylan wasn’t letting it end there and told the MP that he made a ‘statement, not an opinion.’
He wrote: “I did not have @Edwina_Currie on my bingo card for this morning. Edwina, there’s a war, we’re living with Covid, there’s a lot going on publicly and personally.
“I’m aware when it was. Believe me I don’t need to “get real” it’s a statement. Not an opinion. You stay well, as will I.”

He then made a separate tweet to his followers.
“Just a little reminder,” Rylan posted. “Regardless of your upbringing, education, wealth or status, EVERYONE is entitled to talk about Politics as UK citizens.”
The PM offered a “full apology” for breaching his own Covid laws but refused to resign even though millions of Brits had stuck to the rules.
His wife Carrie and Chancellor Rishi Sunak were also issued fixed penalty notices for attending the PM’s lockdown-busting birthday party on 19 June, 2020.
The Met Police shattered the fragile peace the PM had struck with his own backbenchers when it announced 30 more fines had been issued two days ago, taking the total to 50.
“It did not occur to me that this might have been a breach of the rules. But of course the police have found otherwise and I fully respect the outcome of their investigation,” Boris said.
