Saka has been in talks with the Gunners to pen a new deal and both parties have come to an agreement on the new contract, which will reportedly keep the Arsenal star at the club at least till the 2026-27 season.
Saka, who joined Arsenal as an eight-year-old kid, has progressed through the ranks and has become a pivotal part of the Arsenal squad.
Since making his senior debut in 2018, the 21-year-old has made 178 appearances for the North London club across all competitions, scoring 37 goals. He has already netted 13 Premier League goals this season as the Gunners are destined to finish 2nd in the league.
Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu said, “It has been so enjoyable to work with everyone to extend Bukayo’s contract. It is a very proud moment for us all at the club, to work hard with Bukayo and experience his great journey from our academy through to our first team.
“Bukayo has now developed into one of the best young players in the game and we’re looking forward to enjoying together this next stage of his career with us.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stressed the importance of Saka signing a new deal at the club. Arsenal’s young core has done amazingly well this season and are improving as the weeks progress, and committing Saka to a new deal is pivotal for their upsurge.
“It’s great for the club that Bukayo has extended his contract. Retaining our best young talents is key to our continued progress and Bukayo represents such an important part of our squad now and for the future,” Arteta said.
“As well as being a fantastic talent, Bukayo is a special person, he’s loved by us all and he is a credit to himself and his family for the hard work and commitment they have all made to get to this level today. Together with our supporters, we’re so looking forward to enjoying Bukayo’s continued development with us in the years to come,” the Arsenal manager added.
