So how can we master them at home without the actual sea?
“My favourite way to create this look is by firstly washing your hair with some volumising shampoo to give your hair body and volume and then scrunching some mousse or sea salt spray into damp hair and leaving to air dry for effortless looking waves,” suggests Dylan.
“If your hair doesn’t have a natural texture, you can also recreate this look by using crimping irons or a curling iron or hair straighteners to create soft waves before finishing with a texturising spray to give the waves more of a messy and natural look.”

To achieve salty waves, it’s essential to invest in a good salt spray. Not only are they the ultimate time-saving product, allowing a spritz-and-go approach to hairstyling, but they also add texture, grip, volume and movement to all hair types.
That’s right, as Dylan has emphasised, sea salt spray works best when applied to damp hair and then blow-dried or left to air-dry. This way it will help to define and set your natural waves as they appear, similar to when you actually go for a dip in the ocean and then dry off in the sun.
When applied to dry hair, more product is usually needed to achieve the same effect, which often results in accidental overload and that not-so-nice crunch.
