Samaksh Sudi, who is popular for his character Jai Singh of Zee TV show Apna Time Bhi Aayega, started his career as a theatre artiste.
For this young Dehradun boy, theatre is his first love. He says, “There is a saying, ‘Cinema is director’s medium and theatre is actor’s medium’. I have been doing theatre since I was in school. School plays, theatre in Dehradun and then in Mumbai. Whatever I know about acting is because of my love for theatre and my craft. I have lived with so many characters while performing plays. That’s my dopamine. Living different characters, thinking like them for months and putting your learnings to portray that character. ”
Samaksh adds, “I have a dream to open a theatre and cafe in Mumbai, where people will be selected only on the basis of their performances. I was lucky enough that I didn’t wait for a big theatre group to give me a chance to perform. We spent two years doing backstage and never got a chance to perform. I made new groups here in Mumbai to continue my love for theatre.”
